Taiwan chipmaker TSMC says profit up 65 percent

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the world’s largest contract chipmaker, said its second quarter profit jumped 65 percent year-on-year amid strong worldwide demand for electronic goods.
